Privacy policy
This page explains what the INBYTE website and the messaging systems we build for our clients collect, what we use it for, your rights over it, and how to have it deleted.
Last updated:
01What we collect
We collect the least data we need to answer you and run the site:
- Contact form: your name, email, message and request type, plus your phone, business name and system if you enter them.
- Free trial form: your name, WhatsApp number, country, business type, the services you're interested in, when you want to start and how you heard about us, plus your city, business name, number of branches, current software and notes if you enter them.
- Technical data with a message: a hashed fingerprint of your IP address (not the address itself), your browser type, and the page you sent it from. We use these to block spam.
- Downloads: when you download a system we record the release, the time, a hashed fingerprint of your IP address and your browser type, to count downloads and protect the links from abuse.
- Your preferences: your light or dark mode choice is stored in your browser only and never reaches us.
- Visit statistics: we use Metricool to see how many visits pages get and where they come from (such as search engines or social media), in aggregate, so we know what matters to visitors and can improve the site. It does not run in the dashboard or customer account.
02What we don't do
We don't use advertising tools on the site, we don't use visit statistics to target you with ads, and we never sell or rent your data.
03How we use your data
- To answer your message and follow up on your request.
- To activate the system you chose and provide support.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse.
- To understand which systems are downloaded most so we can improve them.
04WhatsApp
When you tap a WhatsApp button you move to the WhatsApp app, and the conversation there is covered by WhatsApp's privacy policy. We receive your number and the message you send, and use them only to answer and serve you.
05Messaging systems on Facebook and Instagram
INBYTE builds systems for its business clients that automatically reply to messages sent to their Facebook Pages on Messenger and their Instagram accounts, through the Meta platform. When you message a Page that uses one of these systems, the system processes the following on the Page owner's behalf:
- The ID Meta assigns to your account for that Page, not your phone number or email.
- The text of the messages you send to the Page, and the replies.
- Your display name, if Meta makes it available.
06How message data is used
We use this data only to answer your message with that Page's information (products, prices, how to order), and to let the Page's staff follow the conversation and reply themselves. To write a reply, the message is sent to an AI provider (such as Anthropic), which processes it for that purpose only.
We never use message data for advertising, sell it or share it with anyone else. Conversations are kept for at most 90 days to follow up on orders and then deleted, unless the Page owner or you ask for earlier deletion.
07Who sees your data
Only the INBYTE team responsible for replies and support. We use hosting, storage and visit-statistics (Metricool) providers, and an AI provider for the messaging systems (Anthropic), to run our services; they process data on our behalf. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
08How long we keep it
We keep contact messages and trial requests for as long as we need them to serve and follow up with you, and messaging-system conversations for at most 90 days. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
09Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete all the data we hold about you, including your messages with any Facebook or Instagram Page that uses our systems, in either of these ways:
- Send the Page itself a message asking for your data to be deleted.
- Or contact us from the contact page or on WhatsApp, and mention the Page you messaged, if any.
- We carry out deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them and confirm when it's done.
10Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Send your request through the contact page or on WhatsApp and we'll act on it promptly.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the last-updated date appears at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we'll point it out on the site.
